I decided to attend this event, held down on the Texas Gulf Coast in Surfside Beach. The Surfside Flyers Kite Club put on a really good show with multiple illuminated huge kites in the air. I flew my Mavic 2 Pro drone around the area, mostly from off shore or from over the empty scrub land behind the festival, in that short 30 minute time window after sunset. I then used a DJI Osmo Action Camera to record footage before and during the event. I used a digital audio recorder to get the sound of the ocean and spectators, splicing that into the finished video, along with a music track from Epidemic Sound.
