The South Texas Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation held their annual CF Climb event at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio Texas. In the past, they’ve held it downtown San Antonio at the Tower of Americas, but due to Covid restrictions, they relocated it to an outdoor venue instead.
They ended up with a few hundred participants and volunteers arriving in the 33° F temperatures before Sunrise. The volunteers arrived at 4:30am to get everything set up and ready for the participants. Vendors and sponsors arrived around 5am to set up. We were there around 5am as well. Opening ceremonies were held around 6:30am, including some group exercises to get warmed up for the run and climb, just before the 7am Start.
