Over the weekend, we braved the mosquitoes and diving birds seeking bugs from the surface of the San Antonio River, to take our Mavic 2 Pro drone down on the south side of San Antonio to catch some relaxing video of the slow moving waters across this small dam. Mission Pkwy and VFW Blvd was the location of the access point and parking area. Mission Reach Paddling Trail Access Point was the name. On the other side (south) of VFW Blvd, was Mission County Park, which was a no fly zone for drones.
In addition to using the drone to capture the video, we also used a digital audio recorded down at the edge of the river, down by the running water, to capture the actual ambient sounds of the water and wildlife. The birds were very active, as were the bugs on the water surface. A couple of the birds kept checking out the drone, which was flying about 10ft above the water surface with red/green and white LED strobes lit up due to the encroaching darkness (FAA requirements). You might notice some red reflections off the bushes at one point in the video that came from one of the navigation / orientation strobes.
