What are the FAA Rules for Recreational Flyers

We put on a community event for the day after Christmas, helping new drone owners learn to fly their new toys and showing off some of the other choices available.  We’re working on the video now, but here’s a link to the PDF handout that we passed out to the attendees.   The event was organized via the NextDoor social network and the San Antonio Drones group on Facebook.

Yellow Rose Drones was the organizer and sponsor of the event.  The location was a soccer field in the Great Northwest Community Improvement Association (HOA) on the northwest side of San Antonio Texas.  We had people show up from all ages and from as far away as 30 miles around.

Despite the weather being foggy and drizzly when we started to set up, within an hour it had dried up to just a slight mist from the fog.  By 2pm, it was completely dry and safe to fly higher above the field.
