The City of Leon Valley Texas puts on an awesome free light display every Christmas season (they call it a holiday light display) behind their public library located on Evers Road. We found a time of night when there weren’t too many spectators enjoying the view, contacted one of their police officers on duty to let them know what was happening, and put the DJI FPV drone into the air with a GoPro Hero 10 camera running in automatic exposure mode.
What do you do when you don’t have a visual observer while flying an FPV drone thru a lighted Christmas display at night? You fly without goggles like a drunken sailor, so we apologize in advance for the unsteady flight and almost running into an unlit tree. (Key word “almost”.)
